About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who enjoy problem-solving and can work under their own initiative. The role includes great training opportunities both internally and externally, including short courses with top business schools. We are interested in candidates who are confident and experienced individuals who will support the division to deliver key objectives in a challenging environment.

As a Metering Team Advisor, you will deal with customer queries and will undertake an in-depth training programme that will equip you with the relevant skills and knowledge required to ensure you deliver excellent levels of service to our business customers.  The Metering Team Advisor must demonstrate active listening, empathy, problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills. Please note – these are office-based roles and NOT Meter Reader positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and validate all received meter readings, monitoring and auditing data quality of meter reads being received
  • Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets, and use business reporting to prepare reports for internal and external audiences
  • Work closely with colleagues to contribute objectives and targets for the team's process, acquiring and sharing knowledge and skills as part of your daily tasks
  • Build rapport, identify customer needs quickly, efficiently, and proactively to deliver excellent customer services,
  • Take ownership of customer queries and resolve in a timely manner, with the ability to understand complex customer queries and to escalate as appropriate
  • Assist and collaborate with ALL other areas of the business when required, supporting them with queries
  • Opportunity for involvement in automation and improvement of business processes

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience within a similar role – utilities, finance or banking back office/metering administration - preferred but not essential
  • Ability to flourish in a high pressure, challenging and fast-paced environment
  • High level of numeracy, literacy, customer service and attention to detail required
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office is preferred, including Word, Outlook and Excel user
  • High organised, flexible with a positive attitude, ability to work collaboratively and autonomously, and to prioritise work
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; with the confidence and patience to deal with difficult and complex situations
  • Ability and willingness to learn and develop
  • Willingness to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution
  • Work independently, but also demonstrate excellent team working skills
