About the role
In the role you will be responsible for providing expertise and knowledge to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. The role will involve creating an automation framework working alongside manual testers and the business users to drive test automation and framework(s) for a third-party web based billing application based on proprietary code and hosted in AWS Cloud.
From a technical standpoint, you will have demonstrable experience of a variety of automation tools, preferably Katalon & Selenium Web driver and will have worked with multiple scripting languages ideally in more than one commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Using your strong understanding of setting up automation frameworks as well as your experience with automation principles and toolsets such as Katalon, Selenium, Cucumber, continuous integration tools and Jira to help us delight our colleagues and customers.
- Developing and executing exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality
- Working collaboratively with the business and test team towards the creation of an automated regression test back and prioritise, plan and coordinate testing activities within the team and the business.
- Feeding into overall delivery estimate, design, develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet stakeholder needs, track quality assurance metric
Key Skills & Experience
- Subject Matter Expert with hands-on experience in building of automated test frameworks & systems and significant practical experience in Test Automation / setting up frameworks on multiple application types and platforms: Web, Microservice/API
- Knowledge of automated test tools such as Katalon / Selenium Web driver / Cucumber & Gherkin
- SME in programming language preferably Java / C# or Python
- Apache POI API for reading and writing data to excel
- Using JIRA and integration of JIRA with automated test tools (Katalon)
- In depth knowledge and understanding of user acceptance testing
- Knowledge of Frameworks: Keyword Driven, Data Driven and Hybrid
Desirable, but not mandatory:
- Familiarity with version control systems e.g., Git
- Skilled in automating functional testing in sprint and maintaining automated regression packages
- Deep knowledge and insights into testing best practices and implementation of functional, integration, regression, tooling, and frameworks covering functional requirements
- Proficient in applying industry best practices, fostering knowledge sharing to provide solutions for complex business problems
- Proven ability to produce and automate appropriate test artifacts i.e., test plans, approaches, summary reports.
- Understanding of functional requirements to create & execute test cases and defect management
