Collections Team Executive (Ayr)

We are offering an opportunity to join our dynamic Credit Control team in our offices in Ayr.

The Collections Team Executive plays a pivotal role in our Collection operations, with the primary objective being to minimise company aged debt by the efficient collection of overdue accounts and unpaid invoices to set KPIs. Adhering to the Collections Process is imperative, ensuring that any outstanding accounts are escalated appropriately based on predefined categories or criteria.

Collections Team Executives are assigned customer accounts and are responsible for appropriately engaging with these customers to facilitate payment. Working to set KPIs and following the Collections Process, the Collections Team Executive must maintain meticulous records of all Collections activity and promptly address and resolve any enquiries or disputes raised by customers.

In this position, close collaboration with all members of the Collections team and other departments is essential in order to facilitate a cohesive approach to addressing customer needs, resolving billing issues, handling data effectively, and aligning collection strategies with broader organisational goals.

The position demands enthusiasm and is ideally suited for individuals who exude confidence, relish problem-solving challenges, possess strong negotiation prowess, can effectively manage their workload autonomously, and thrive in taking initiative even under pressure.

  • Calling customers and collecting outstanding payments
  • Administration of customer accounts
  • Sending payment reminder letters
  • Answering basic invoice queries
  • Arranging Payment Plans
  • Beginning the recovery process where necessary

Required Skills:

  • Confident making and receiving telephone calls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Administration skills and a thorough attention to detail
  • Proficient numerical skills
  • Competent using various computer systems

Desirable:

  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Experience using Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience using a CRM system
  • Previous experience in a Collections or similar role is desirable.
