Finance Business Partner

Castle Water is looking for a talented and technically astute Finance Business Partner (FBP) who will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely and complete financial information to the business, working with business stakeholders to understand and drive improved financial performance.

The ideal applicant will have experience within the Financial Services/Utilities sector, be a Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA). You must possess exceptional financial acumen, technical ability and have the capacity and confidence to work alongside senior business stakeholders. This is a permanent position, with an immediate start date

  • Provide financial information and advice to Heads of Departments to enable objectives to be achieved, including revenue, opex and capex forecasting.
  • Preparation of financial plans and budgets, along with reporting progress against plans and forecasts
  • Support in preparation of management accounts, in a timely manner, for relevant Heads of Departments, along with related analysis and reporting for Board Packs and other committees as required
  • Hold regular budget holder meetings, providing insight and challenge to managers to drive improved business results
  • Provision of financial analysis to support supplier contract negotiations, cost to serve and business cases.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders across operational teams, providing finance advice and support
  • Engaging with business stakeholders and support the Group to continually develop and enhance management information and key metrics to validate business performance
  • Identify financial management training needs of operational colleagues and provide training where required
  • Proactive approach to driving efficiencies and develop models and tools that support business activities.
  • Undertake ad hoc, project work including finance transformation projects
  • Assisting in producing business cases and return on investment analysis
  • Maintain accurate and transparent audit records to support external audit requirements
  • Supporting regulatory audit and external audit requests
  • Keep abreast of developments in finance and accounting and be proactive in ensuring that managers are appropriately briefed on relevant changes and new legislation
  • Manage workload effectively ensuring all tasks are completed within given timescales
  • You will be expected to carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your main duties.
  • Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA).
  • Prior professional experience in a Finance Business Partnering or an Analytical Finance role Proven experience in a dynamic finance environment with proven ability to work with a varied mix of stakeholders
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Analytically strong and pragmatic with a long term vision
  • Excellent verbal communicator with the ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders across an operational business
  • Excellent numerical and verbal skills, understanding and application
  • Highest levels of integrity and probity and a commitment to the highest levels of effort
