Working in partnership, Castle Water and Save the Children are helping to give children caught up in emergencies access to safe, clean drinking water.
We have now agreed to support Save the Children’s Emergency Fund for a further three years through various fundraising campaigns. With the help of our employees and customers, we will continue to make a difference to children in the UK and around the world.
This year is also Save the Children’s centenary year. We’re helping the charity to mark this important milestone and sponsored the “See Me Safe” Symposium at Church House, Westminster, London – an event co-hosted by Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs.
The Symposium brought together experts, policy-makers, academics, philanthropists and business leaders to identify practical solutions to protect children in conflict and rebuild their lives.
The Symposium provided the ideal platform to launch Save the Children’s new campaign to ‘Stop the War on Children’.
The campaign aims to drive collaboration and action worldwide to ensure that no child living in a war zone is deprived of two things that every parent of every child demands – protection and hope.
Save the Children CEO, Kevin Watkins, said: “…turning a blind eye to one of the greatest moral challenges facing our generation is not an option… children have a right to expect our best efforts.”
Also speaking at the event, Tariq Mahmood Ahmad, Baron Ahmad of Wimbledon, a British businessman and a conservative life peer, said: “…to act, even if you change the life of one person, makes a difference”.
View Save the Children’s films from the Symposium highlighting the urgent need to protect children in conflict; and the inspiring action taken by children on our Power of the Pen campaign.
