Described as ‘the greatest free show on Earth’, the Saddleworth & District Whit Friday Brass Band Contests take place every year on Whit Friday.
This year on May 25, the contest welcomed a new contender to the programme – The Castle Water Brass Band – a national band with its roots in Scotland and unofficial headquarters in the Home Counties.
Although most of the 25 musicians have competed in the Whit Friday contest before, this year was an opportunity to perform collectively bearing the name of the UK’s largest independent water retailer.
Castle Water works closely with customers in Yorkshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester, including hospitals and local authorities. We were delighted to be able to take part in the Whit Friday competition.
