Essex and Suffolk Water ask customers to use water wisely

Essex & Suffolk Water (ESW) has seen a 30% increase in demand for water this summer, and reservoir levels for the area are now lower than they would usually be for this time of year.  As a result, ESW are asking non-household customers in Suffolk, Essex and London Boroughs to use water wisely, minimise usage where possible, and restrain from non-essential water usage.

How can businesses help?

Businesses can implement simple water efficiency measures, for example:

  • Reducing heavy water usage at peak times.
  • Identify any leaks on premises, especially toilets and taps.
  • Postpone any non-essential water use.
  • Educate your employees on being more water efficient - from turning off taps to using the small flush, there's actions we can all take to save water.
  • Conduct a water audit to identify areas to save water.
