Team Castle Water completes all four Scottish Kiltwalks in 2026, raising £2,405 so far for Ayrshire Cancer Support
After months of walking, fundraising and determination, Team Castle Water has finished an incredible challenge. From Glasgow to Aberdeen, Dundee and finally Edinburgh, the team has put in the miles, pushed through tired legs and shown an amazing level of commitment to a cause that means so much to everyone involved.
One team. One goal.
At the beginning of 2026, a small group of Castle Water colleagues set themselves their biggest Kiltwalk fundraising challenge yet: completing all four events in a single year.
The challenge followed years of Castle Water colleagues taking part in the Kiltwalk in memory of much-loved colleague and friend John McConnachie, who sadly passed away in December 2022. Ayrshire Cancer Support provided invaluable support to John and his family during his treatment. This year, the team wanted to go even further – taking on the Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh Kiltwalks to raise as much money and awareness as possible for the charity.
And now, after countless miles across Scotland, they’ve done it!
Determination every step of the way
Completing one Kiltwalk is an achievement in itself. Committing to four across the year required an incredible amount of determination, preparation and team spirit. Through every event, the team continued to support one another and keep sight of the reason behind the challenge. Their efforts extended far beyond the walks themselves, with fundraising taking place throughout the year to help Ayrshire Cancer Support continue providing vital services to people affected by cancer. We couldn’t be prouder of everyone who took part and represented Castle Water throughout this incredible charity fundraising challenge in Scotland.
Thanks to the determination of the team and the generosity of everyone who donated, an incredible £2,405 has been raised for Ayrshire Cancer Support so far, and the team are continuing their fundraising until the end of the year with the hopes of reaching £3,000. Every donation, share and word of encouragement has helped the team reach this point, and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported them throughout their journey. There is still time to support the team to help reach their fundraising goal here
Most importantly, the money raised will help Ayrshire Cancer Support continue the important work that inspired the team to take on this challenge in the first place.
A challenge to remember
Four Kiltwalks. Four cities. Countless miles. And one very important cause. What started as an ambitious Scottish Kiltwalk challenge has become an incredible achievement and a fitting way to continue remembering John while supporting a charity that made such a difference to him and his family.
