Four Kiltwalks, One Goal: Team Castle Water raises over £1,000 so far

Team Castle Water takes on all four Kiltwalks in 2026

The Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event, and since 2016, over 216,000 people have taken part, raising £58 million for 4,000 charities. Each year, the Glasgow event sees walkers complete a gruelling 23-mile journey from Glasgow Green to the scenic shores of Loch Lomond – a challenge that typically takes around eight hours to complete.

Team Castle Water is going even bigger in 2026, taking on all four Kiltwalk events across Scotland – and we’re already off to a strong start, raising £1,244 so far for a great charity. After the success of previous years, the team has stepped up to an even greater challenge this year, committing to walk in Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen and Edinburgh in support of Ayrshire Cancer Support.

A strong start in Glasgow

With the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2026 now complete, the team has already shown incredible determination and team spirit. The miles may be behind them, but the journey is far from over. Next up: Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh.

Supporting a cause that matters

Their motivation: “On the 5th of December 2022 we sadly lost our beloved colleague and friend John McConnachie. John was a much loved member of the Castle Water team, who is still dearly missed. Ayrshire Cancer Support supported John and his family through his treatments including providing transport to his appointments along with supporting his family after his passing.

Each year we have completed a Kiltwalk in memory of John and raised money for Ayrshire Cancer Support to allow them to continue to support the local community. This year, a small group of us at Castle Water have decided to challenge ourselves to take on all 4 Kiltwalks and try raise even more money for this amazing charity!” – The Castle Water Team

A word from Ayrshire Cancer Support

“At Ayrshire Cancer Support, we are truly thankful to have the amazing support of the Castle Water team.

Over the years, Team Castle Water have participated in the Glasgow and Dundee Kiltwalks, and this year will take on the incredible challenge of all four Kiltwalks. With Glasgow 2026 now complete, and the tired legs a distant memory, it is now time for the team to move on to training for Dundee, Aberdeen and Edinburgh – phenomenal.

The team have been tremendous with their fundraising efforts and are always finding new ways to raise money – we believe they are now skilled in pancake making!

It has been truly wonderful getting to know the team, who continue to support local people and fundraise to help Ayrshire Cancer Support provide essential free services to children, young people and adults affected by cancer throughout Ayrshire.” – Ayrshire Cancer Support

Building momentum

With £1,244 already raised, the team is building real momentum – but they’re not stopping here. Each event brings a new opportunity to raise awareness and push towards an even bigger fundraising total in 2026.

Taking on all four Kiltwalks is not easy, but the team is fully committed to the challenge ahead. From long-distance walks to creative fundraising (and plenty of pancakes), every effort helps support an incredible cause.

Help us go further

We’re incredibly grateful for the support so far – but there’s still a long way to go.

If you’d like to support Team Castle Water and help us raise even more for Ayrshire Cancer Support, donations can be made via the team’s just Giving page.
