Castle Water is set to balance more than 18,000kg of carbon emissions for 2021, the equivalent of taking 15 cars off the road for an entire year.

Castle Water is carbon balancing its printing operation to combat its carbon emissions footprint.

With support from printing partner Potts, Castle Water's operational carbon footprint for printing will be calculated, independently verified and then offset by international conservation charity, World Land Trust (WLT).

Based on data from 2020, it's likely that Castle Water will balance more than 18,000 kilogrammes of carbon dioxide, which is the equivalent of taking 15 cars off the road for an entire year. The World Land Trust's carbon balancing programme will subsequently protect more than 12,000 square meters of threatened terrestrial habitats in Vietnam.

The World Land Trust's carbon balancing programme protects threatened forests and critically endangered habitats in the Khe Nuoc Trong province of Vietnam, the destruction of which would release stored carbon in to the atmosphere.

World Land Trust will offset Castle Water's carbon emissions by protecting an area of land which, if destroyed, would emit an equivalent amount of stored carbon.

This subsequently protects the wildlife and endangered species that live within the protected area, and enables the regeneration of degraded habitats, which gradually re-absorb atmospheric carbon dioxide.
