Team Castle Water steps up for charity at 2025 Glasgow Kiltwalk

On Sunday 27 April, a team of eight Castle Water employees from our Ayrshire office took part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk for the third year running, raising over £1,400 for Ayrshire Cancer Support.

The Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event, and since 2016, over 145,000 people have taken part, raising £42.5 million for 3,300 charities. Each year, the Glasgow event sees walkers complete a gruelling 23-mile journey from Glasgow Green to the scenic shores of Loch Lomond – a challenge that typically takes around eight hours to complete.

Ayrshire Cancer Support remains a cause close to the Castle Water team’s heart. The charity provides vital emotional, practical, and financial support to individuals and families affected by cancer across Ayrshire. Team organiser Megan Sutherland, Billing and Data Analytics Manager at Castle Water Scotland, explained:

“We chose this charity is because our beloved Sales Manager, John McConnachie, passed away in December 2022 and Ayrshire Cancer Support supported him and his family through this time.”

This year’s Castle Water Scotland team included:

  • Megan Sutherland – Billing and Data Analytics Manager
  • Zara Parvaiz – Data Analyst
  • Robin Donald – Regional Director, Scotland
  • John Watt – Customer Service Advisor
  • Ashleigh Pitman – Customer Service and Quality Manager
  • Calum MacLeod – Customer and Market Resolutions Team Leader
  • Hugh Brown – Sales Director Scotland
  • Graeme Wright – TPI Coordinator (Scotland)

Throughout the day, the team took over Castle Water’s Instagram stories, sharing updates from the route to inspire support and donations in real time.

After raising £2,790 in 2023 and £1,600 in 2024, this year’s total of £1,441 continues the team’s incredible fundraising efforts for this important cause.

There’s still time to show your support – donations can be made via the team’s Just Giving page.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and supported the team on their Kiltwalk journey.
