Business Water Meter Reading

How to read your business water meter

Step 1 Find your water meter using an interactive map on MyAccount here.

Step 2 If your meter is safe to access, note your reading (we only need the black digits).

Step 3 Submit your meter reading on MyAccount.

Here’s an example

In this example the meter reading is ‘0270’.

Why is it important to submit regular meter readings?

We use your meter readings to calculate your bills to help ensure your business only pays for the water being used. Submitting a meter reading may be additionally important for customers with a reduction in water consumption, to help reflect a change in water usage in your bills. We encourage all customers who can safely access their water meters to submit monthly meter readings on MyAccount.

You can set up a monthly direct debit to spread payments evenly across the year, which helps avoid seasonal peaks in payments.

For some customers, usage can fluctuate significantly – for instance farms. The market Codes don’t take this into account when they calculate Wholesale charges. The bills we send you will estimate usage based on the pattern of recent usage, the same approach as used in the central market. If your usage reduces, this will be reflected in your next bill after your meter readings show the drop in usage.

TRACK YOUR WATER USAGE

Meter readings allow you to monitor your business water usage which can help you to track consumption patterns.

Multiple sites and multiple meters

Customers that have multiple sites or multiple meters, must provide a meter reading for all meters at each site.

Multiple meter readings can be submitted at one time on the Castle Water website.
