Castle Water, the UK’s leading independent business water retailer, is set to host a free live webinar to members of the Chemical Industry Association (CIA) in direct partnership with the organisation on 21st September.
The CIA is the organisation representing and advising chemical and pharmaceutical companies located across the UK. The core membership is a diverse mix of chemical and pharmaceutical companies operating within the UK. As Associate CIA Members, Castle Water’s free live briefing will discuss likely water charge increases and how businesses can mitigate impact.
In August, Castle Water CEO, John Reynolds, warned of an increase in water charges coming in April 2023. The free live briefing will discuss likely water charge increases, the impact to be expected and why given a significant degree of uncertainty six months ahead of the changes, and how businesses can mitigate impact.
With inflation for the last quarter of 2022 likely to reach 13%, the annual increase on water bills from 1 April 2023 is likely to reflect this.
There will be higher increases for customers of the four water Wholesalers that successfully challenged Ofwat’s PR19 price control and had their agreements revised: Anglian Water, Yorkshire Water, Northumbrian Water and Bristol Water. For customers of these companies, dictated by the region in which the companies are located, we expect increases of an additional 1 to 3%.
Water costs will not rise as much as energy but remain a concern for customers. During the webinar Castle Water will address some options available to businesses to help mitigate the impact of rising costs, including Water Audits that access water usage to identify inefficiencies and opportunities to reduce consumption and bills.
