Reinforces position as UK’s largest independent water retailer as it acquires 50,000 new business customers.

Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, has welcomed news that Castle Water has acquired 50,000 business customers from South East Water.

The new customers will transfer to Castle Water in July.

Mr Swinney learnt of Castle Water’s growth plans during his recent visit where he also heard more about the state-of-the-art service centre the company is developing in Blairgowrie, creating up to 60 jobs. The new centre is due to open next month.

Commenting on the news, Mr Swinney said:

I am delighted by the news of Castle Water’s latest expansion. The growth and success of a local company should always be celebrated – particularly one that has firmly tied itself to the community and invested money in to the area.

With the opening of Castle Water’s new Blairgowrie service centre in June, this is an exciting time for the company and the local community.

I look forward to continuing my strong support of Castle Water, and I wish them every success going forward.

Castle Water CEO, John Reynolds, said:
