As we strive to live healthier, happier, and less stressful lives, drinking water regularly is a great way to help manage stress.

This Stress Awareness month we’re looking at why it’s important to stay hydrated, and ways to drink more water every day.

How can drinking water help manage stress?

Drinking water regularly will help manage stress levels because staying hydrated supports your body to function at its best. When the brain is functioning on a full reserve of water and is being topped up frequently, we can think faster, be more focused, and experience greater clarity and creativity. Even mild dehydration can negatively affect attention span, memory functions, motor skills and mood. What’s more, increased fatigue, sleep issues and headaches can all be linked to reduced water intake. All of this can contribute to high stress levels.
